Bloomie

A gentle companion for caregivers of preschoolers — talk it through, read, play, find support.

Problem Parents of young kids need advice that is warm, sourced and safe — at 2 a.m., in their own language.

  • AI chat with moderation on both sides, structured sources and a daily quota — no chat history stored.
  • Five languages end to end, hold-to-talk voice input and natural, clearly labelled AI voice.
  • A skeuomorphic interface — down to a working vinyl player for the podcast shelf.

TripMate

A travel copilot for international students — visas, re-entry, flights and hotels in one chat.

Problem Students on F-1 and OPT get travel rules from forums and guesswork. A wrong answer can mean a denied re-entry.

  • Policy answers come only from a curated knowledge base of official sources, each with a citation and verified date — and it says “I don’t know” when it should.
  • Hybrid retrieval (pgvector + full-text, fused with RRF) behind an intent router that asks for missing details first.
  • Live flight and hotel quotes as cards, cached and rate-limited; a 50-question golden set guards every change.
  • Next.js
  • AI SDK
  • Supabase pgvector
  • SerpApi

AI Sleep Companion

A culturally tailored AI sleep companion for Arabic speakers — co-designed with native speakers and made safe for crisis moments.

Problem Sleep apps assume an English speaker with Western bedtime habits — fluent but generic replies lost 38% of users after the first message.

  • Ran native-speaker testing in Lebanon: culturally fit replies 62% → 91%, first-reply drop-off 38% → 11%.
  • Co-designed mood cards and contextual music picks: check-ins 45% → 82%, click-through 22% → 51%.
  • Built crisis guardrails with clinical partners: unsafe replies 18% → under 2% across 2,000+ pilot chats.

About

I’m Yida, a consumer AI product manager and consumer insight analyst trained in psychology, economics and data. I find out why people do what they do — then ship the product myself: prompts, guardrails, evals and code.

My work keeps landing on people at stressful moments — patients facing stigma, parents of young kids, students far from home, someone who can’t sleep. So I design for calm and for trust, and I like interfaces you can almost touch.
